Free Screening: “I Am Evidence”
monday, April 29, 2019
Harbor Cinema, 3450 Henry Street
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Join Every Woman’s Place for a free screening of the documentary film “I Am Evidence.” Produced by Mariska Hargitay (television’s Law & Order: SVU), “I Am Evidence” exposes the shocking number of untested rape kits in the United States today, estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands. Despite the power of DNA to solve and prevent crimes, these kits containing potentially crucial evidence languish untested in police evidence storage rooms. Behind each of these kits lies an individual’s unresolved sexual assault case. The film introduces viewers to several of these survivors, who still await justice, as well as the prosecutors, investigators, advocates and journalists fighting on their behalf. This movie is rated TV-MA.
FREE admission. Pop and popcorn will be provided! The Community Foundation for Muskegon County is proud to be a sponsor of this event. Ticket information is available here.
