Established in 1999 and named in her honor, the PATRICIA B. JOHNSON AWARD is given annually as a testament to her visionary leadership, determination, collaboration, and unwavering advocacy for Muskegon County.
Celebrating an individual or organization that exhibits exceptional leadership and innovative approaches to community development, the 26th Patricia B. Johnson Award was bestowed upon Robert “Buzz” and Wendy Kersman.
The KERSMANS, a remarkable duo, played a pivotal role in uplifting the Muskegon community. Their extensive involvement in the Community Foundation, Muskegon Museum of Art, Downtown Muskegon Arts, GVSU Seidman School of Business, Greater Muskegon Service League, and West Michigan Symphony Play Your Part campaign, among others, underscores their tireless commitment to the community.
At our 2024 Ambassadors Reception, Park Kersman – son of Buzz & Wendy – accepted the award on behalf of his late father and his mother who was traveling with family. See the acceptance video here!
