Youth Advisory Council

Youth Voices Matter Too

The Youth Advisory Council of Muskegon County (YAC) is a collective of 20+ youth grantmakers who represent 16 Muskegon-area high schools.

Joining YAC

Tackle important issues like mental health, substance use, and racial discrimination – problems that many of your peers face daily. As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to serve, not because of any trouble you’ve gotten into, but because you genuinely want to make a positive impact. You’ll even help decide how tens of thousands of dollars are spent on youth-related projects in Muskegon County every year. Sound interesting?

Our application is NOW CLOSED. (Recruiting will begin again in early spring 2027.)

Help Make a Difference

YAC meets every month to distribute over $60,000 each year to local organizations and projects that support youth. Beyond grantmaking, YAC members also plan community service projects and visit the organizations they fund to see the impact firsthand.
