As we navigate the reality of COVID-19, the Community Foundation for Muskegon County and the United Way of the Lakeshore have teamed up, with other funders and donors, to create the COVID-19 Response Fund held at the United Way. Together, we are raising and disbursing funds to our local nonprofits who are helping address the immediate needs of our neighbors. While our offices and the Frauenthal Center are closed, our staff is working from home to ensure that the generosity of Muskegon County continues to support our nonprofit partners and our community where it’s needed most. Thank you to Meijer, Consumers Energy Foundation, Howmet Aerospace, the DTE Foundation, and all the donors who have contributed to this fund.

Nonprofit resources – Apply for a grant from the COVID-19 Response Fund using this streamlined application. Each week, we are meeting as an emergency needs committee to review applications and disburse funding. The focus of the grant awards is to benefit people with low incomes or who have recently experienced an abrupt decrease in income, especially communities of color and historically and/or systematically marginalized people, including the ALICE population.
