David Shafer

A native of Muskegon County, David returned home after law school and is the owner and managing partner of Nolan & Shafer, PLC. He serves the Muskegon County Bar Association as the Bench-Bar Chairperson. He is a member of American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Michigan Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, and currently serves as a council member for the State Bar of Michigan’s Negligence Section. An advisor to the Shafer Family Fund, David’s interests align with the Community Foundation’s values and goals, particularly systemic opportunities that provide broader opportunities for individuals and families and promotes economic success.

Angelita Valdez

A native of Muskegon, Angelita is a Behavioral Health Therapist and the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Servicios de Esperanza, LLC providing bilingual therapy. A resident of Muskegon, Angelita is a fund holder, having created the Angel Luis & Connie Navarro Legacia Fund. She serves as a Board member for Latinos Working for the Future, Harbor Hospice of Muskegon, and was appointed to the Hispanic/Latino Commission of Michigan. Angelita’s passion for serving children and families, coupled with her DEI interest aligns with Community Foundation goals.
